2012-2021 Short film, 9 min, 16mm, b/w

Rooted in a series of encounters with Norman Skinner in the neighbourhood of Edgecombe Avenue, Harlem, New York. After seeing Norman walking in pain around the house’s entrance multiple times, I engaged in conversations that grew more and more regular and gave me the chance to learn the history of the building and Norman’s story. One day, he told me the news that his nephew would leave for the Navy.
Someone has to leave, for the war.
